Crafting Home Stories
In 1764, the first Acadians arrived in Louisiana by way of the Mississippi River and the Bayou Teche. Originally from the Centre-Ouest region of France, the Acadians settled in Nova Scotia where they fought to keep the British from taking control of the region. Eventually, the British conquered, but the Acadians refused allegiance to the British crown and the Church of England because of their devotion to their Catholic faith. Their faith brought them down to modern day Acadiana, West of the Teche.

Inspired by the Acadians, their dedication to faith, family, and tradition, and their commitment to creating a home, we started West of Teche Homes. Our passion is to create, rebuild, and inspire Acadian-French style homes in the Acadiana area. The charm, tradition, and focus on our Catholic roots is what makes us truly Cajun. Construction Manager
With over 5 years of construction experience, Jude is the brains and the muscle behind West of Teche. As a handyman in the Acadiana area, Jude is able to provide the resources and referrals to make sure the job is done right. He cares deeply about creating a well-built home, and has the knowledge and the skill to do just that. You can count on his precision and attention to detail when it comes to bringing your vision to life.
